Scholarship Program

The District Scholarship Program is designed to support a student who has demonstrated an interest in freshwater resources and who is registered in a 2 or 4 year college program majoring in the environmental sciences or related field.

Depending on funding availability, two or possibly more, scholarships in the amount of $400 will be given out each year to students in their senior year of high school. Scholarship applications are available February 1st each year, and applications are accepted until April 1st. Winners of the scholarships are usually awarded during their school's award banquet.

The mission of the Sauk River Watershed District‟s scholarship program is:

  1. To further encourage highly capable individuals to continue studies in the Environmental Sciences with a strong component in one or more areas of limnology, hydrology, aquatic biology and water related majors.
  2. To provide additional incentive and motivation for an individual of high scholastic achievement to dedicate his/her professional or academic career to the field of fresh water resource protection and water pollution control.
  3. To enhance and promote the field of fresh water resource studies and environmental protection by attracting people of outstanding ability and rigorous educational standards.
