E-CARE Program

Water Festivals
Everyone can play a role in protecting our water resources. The Sauk River Watershed District wants to see every fourth grader within the District attend a water festival. Water festivals help students make the connection between activities in our neighborhoods and the health of local lakes, streams and wetlands. This free event is also an opportunity to celebrate spring and enjoy the Sauk River which makes our area a great place to live!

The event has 17 stations that students visit on a 20-40 minute cycle. These stations are conducted by government agencies, organizations and trained individuals. Station sponsors include: MN Science Museum, University of MN Extension, MN DNR - Fisheries, MN DNR - Division of Waters, Stearns Environmental Services, Big Sauk Lake Association, MN Rural Water Assn., MN Pollution Control Agency, City of Sauk Centre Public Works, City of Melrose Public Utilities and Fire Department, St. Cloud Technical College, Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District, Finken’s Water Centers, and the Sauk River Watershed District.
